Sinus Lift

Sinus lift is a surgical procedure performed on patients who want to have a dental implant and suffer from a lack of bone in the upper jaw. In the sinus lift process, a bone is implanted in the back of the upper jaw to create a solid base to which the dental implant will later be implanted.

There are two methods for performing a sinus lift:

Closed sinus lift-this is a moderate operation compared to the second method. A closed sinus lift is performed when there is a relatively small deficiency in the bone, up to a size of about two millimeters.

Open sinus lift-a more complex surgical operation that is performed on patients who suffer from a larger deficiency in the bone.

This is a very common surgery performed on the upper jaw so that a dental implant does not lose its grip due to the bone deficiency or accidentally penetrate the sinus area above it and cause inflammation.
